Child car seats that are more than 10 years old, have been involved in a car accident, have damaged or frayed straps or cracks in the body of the seat, should be disposed of.

To dispose of old or unsafe seats:

  • Cut the straps and remove the harness
  • Remove all padded covering from the shell

Baby Bunting - car seat recycling trial

Baby Bunting are running a car seat recycling trial at eight of their Victorian stores.

The closest participating store is Chirnside Park and there is a fee of $25 per seat to help cover some of the associated recycling costs.
