Donate, sell or give away

If your household items are in good, useable condition, consider donating as an alternative to disposing of in a hard waste collection. Find your nearest op shop or refer to Facebook Marketplace or groups Ziilch or Gumtree.

A number of charity organisations accept household items such as furniture, white-goods and other household appliances. Please visit each organisations website to find out what items are accepted and how to arrange a drop off or collection of your donation items:

GIVIT

GIVIT is a not-for-profit donation platform that facilitates the donation of essential goods and services to people in need. Simply browse the what’s needed list on GIVIT.org.au to see if the item you are looking to move on has been requested by a GIVIT partner charity in your local area. If so, GIVIT will connect you with the requesting charity to arrange collection or delivery of the item.

Alternatively, you can list your item on the GIVIT online warehouse. GIVIT partner charities browse this warehouse and reserve items for their clients who are experiencing hardship.
