Maroondah Eco Gathering 2024 aims to bring local people together to be inspired, meet other locals, explore shared interests around environmental sustainability, and maybe even spark new local actions for sustainable living.

You’ll hear from our champion presenters including keynote speaker Hannah Moloney, Master of Ceremonies Gilbert Rochecouste, and a panel of speakers featuring local community leaders and peers. There will also be small group conversations to connect with like-minded locals and share ideas for creating positive, environmentally sustainable change.

Hannah Moloney

Hannah Moloney

Keynote speaker Hannah Moloney is a TV presenter on ABC’s Gardening Australia, permaculturalist, author and climate activist.

Hannah is a recipient of the 2015 Tasmanian ‘Young Landcare Leader Award’ for her work in urban agriculture and the 2021 Permaculture Australia ‘Community Service Award’. As an ambassador of Community Gardens Australia she’s a regular supporter for people working in this space. Her first book ‘The Good Life: How To Grow A Better World’ (2021) explores ways to counter the climate emergency individually and collectively.

As an activist, Hannah is fuelled by radical hope and the deeper knowing that ordinary humans are capable of doing extraordinary things, especially when they collectivise for the greater good.

Event MC Gilbert Rochecouste is recognised as one of the most inspiring public speakers in the areas of placemaking, community renewal and creating great places.

Gilbert is an expert placemaker and founder of Village Well, Australia’s first placemaking consultancy, with 30 years of proven success in connecting people to place. His passion is to create places that people love and believes the village life is central to our personal and collective human health.

Gilbert endeavours to ‘open the hearts and minds of humanity to a life nourishing story’ and we are thrilled to have his joyful, creative and dynamic energy guiding the event.
