Established in 2001, the Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery (formerly known as Maroondah Access Gallery) is owned and managed by Maroondah City Council. The Gallery is an outstanding exhibitions venue with strong links to the local community and to Melbourne’s dynamic arts scene.

MFEG is part of the City of Maroondah's network of arts sites and facilities within the Ringwood Arts Precinct. The gallery program encompasses a broad range of contemporary and traditional visual arts practice including painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, photography, video, design, jewellery, installation as well as scope for performance and multi-media artworks.

Arts in Maroondah are excited to open our call out for exhibition proposals from artists, curators, collectives, groups and organisations to exhibit at Maroondah Federation Estate Gallery (MFEG) in 2025 and 2026.

Mutualism: a place called Bungalook

Drawing on the history of antimony mining in the Maroondah region during the nineteenth century, this exhibition explores a symbolic link between its industrial past and a critically endangered species of the present: the Kilsyth South Spider-orchid, of which only three plants are known to survive in the wild.

  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Location

The Gallery is situated prominently at the entrance of Maroondah Federation Estate, a community and cultural facility with a wide range of user groups and visitors. It includes a café and an attractive outdoor setting. There is car parking for visitors and signage marks the location clearly.

The Gallery is easily accessible, including by wheelchair, and is close to public transport (Ringwood Station 650m). Admission to the gallery is free.
