A listing of current and former mayors of Maroondah, as well as Borough of Ringwood and City of Ringwood Mayors, Shire of Croydon Presidents and City of Croydon Mayors.
The Croydon area was first known as Warrandyte station as it was the first station in Warrandyte Parish, then South Warrandyte and finally Croydon after consultation within the community.
The original Ringwood village emerged in the mid to late 19th century, following the sale of land in the 1850s and the emergence of grazing, fruit growing and brick making activities.
The first people that occupied the Melbourne area prior to European colonisation were the Woiwurrung language group, specifically the Wurundjeri people.
There are a number of historic walks throughout Maroondah that highlight both historic buildings and celebrate our rich history.
The Garter Principal King of Arms, London, granted the City of Maroondah its Coat of Arms on 6 April 1999.
