Council maintains Maroondah’s extensive local road network, footpaths and drain system. 

Our road network

We manage the road network through a Pavement Management System, in accordance with Maroondah's Road Management Plan. Our road network is 475km long, and has a replacement cost of approximately $200 million. Local roads are specified in the Register of Public Roads.

Our naturestrips

Residents and property owners are encouraged to care for their nature strip area. If Council or service authorities undertake any works on a nature strip of footpath, any damage will be repaired.

Drainage and stormwater

Under Local Law, all household drains, and their maintenance, are the responsibility of the resident. This includes the section of drainage that lies within the property boundaries.
