Vision
The Maroondah community has access to good quality information on sustainability issues and has the opportunity to engage at a variety of levels to meet their varying needs.
Directions
The deep appreciation for the environment within Maroondah by local residents is reflected in the large number of committed friends of park groups and bushland volunteers and other active groups. To be successful in protecting and enhancing the environmental sustainability of the Municipality Council wishes to continue, deepen, and extend its partnerships with a range of organisations within and outside of Maroondah.
The Maroondah Environment Advisory Committee has been established to inform and advise council on environmental and sustainability issues and Council’s role in improving the environment in Maroondah. It comprises Councillors and community representatives of local environmental groups.
At the regional scale Council is an active partner within the Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action, the Eastern Alliance for Sustainable Learning, the Eastern Transport Coalition and the Port Phillip and Westernport Catchment Management Authority.
