Solar Savers

Maroondah City Council, in partnership with the Eastern Alliance for Greenhouse Action (EAGA) is participating in the Solar Savers Program. Solar Savers provides support to Maroondah residents- homeowners and renters; and businesses who would like to install rooftop solar and battery storage and would like assistance in accessing technical guidance and advice, and available rebates and financial support.

Installing rooftop solar can be a great way to reduce your electricity costs and greenhouse gas emissions. Households most likely to benefit from installing solar include households that:

  • Use their appliances during the day
  • Work from home
  • Spend 3-4 days at home each week
  • Care for someone in need

Solar Savers makes installing solar PV easy by connecting residents and businesses with trusted installers with quality products and workmanship, selected through a public tender process. Solar Savers can also help to navigate the available solar rebates and funding options.

The program has recently expanded to include new, energy efficient ways to heat and cool homes: energy efficient split systems for heating and cooling and heat pump hot water systems, available now to all households in Maroondah.

Solar Savers Information Session

The Solar Savers team welcomed Specialized Solar & Electrical at a session where independent information was provided about how solar systems work, what properties are most suited and how the system can benefit you. Current government incentives that are reducing the upfront cost of installation for all appliances, were also explained.

Energy Savers

Maroondah City Council is helping businesses to upgrade equipment and lighting with State Government subsidies through the local government initiative, Energy Savers.
