Victoria Street road

Council has allocated funding this financial year (2024/25) for road reconstruction and improvement works in Victoria Street, between Knaith Road and Railway Avenue in Ringwood East and at the intersection of Victoria Street and Railway Avenue, Ringwood East.

Scope of works

The road reconstruction works will include:

  • Reprioritising the Victoria Street and Railway Avenue intersection to address limited traffic visibility and high vehicle speeds
  • Realigning the intersection to be a conventional T-intersection with priority to traffic along Railway Avenue
  • Reconstructing the two pedestrian kerb ramps and associated concrete islands at the intersection
  • Constructing a new footpath on the western side of Victoria Street and a new pedestrian crossing outside 25 Victoria Street
  • Constructing a raised pavement at the front of 28 Victoria Street to address speeding issues
  • Reconstructing concrete kerb and channel on both sides of Victoria Street and at the intersection of Victoria Street and Railway Avenue
  • Reconstructing two pedestrian kerb ramps at the intersection of Victoria Street and Loma Street
  • Reconstructing vehicle crossovers
  • Reconstructing stormwater drainage infrastructure
  • Performing road pavement renewal works
  • Upgrading signage and line-marking.
