Council is upgrading Victoria Street, between Knaith Road and Railway Avenue and at the intersection of Victoria Street and Railway Avenue in Ringwood East.

Funding has been allocated this financial year (2023/24) to prepare detailed design plans for the reconstruction works.

What works are happening?

These works will address the deteriorated condition of the road, enhance pedestrian connectivity and improve the operation and safety of the Victoria Street and Railway Avenue intersection.

The proposed improvements include:

  • Realigning the intersection to be a conventional T-intersection with priority to traffic along Railway Avenue.
  • Reconstructing the two (2) pedestrian kerb ramps and associated concrete islands at the intersection;
  • Constructing a new footpath on the western side of Victoria Street and a new pedestrian crossing outside of 25 Victoria Street;
  • Constructing a raised pavement at the front of 28 Victoria Street to address speeding issues;
  • Reconstructing concrete kerb and channel on both sides of Victoria Street and at the intersection of Victoria Street and Railway Avenue;
  • Reconstructing two (2) pedestrian kerb ramps at the intersection of Victoria Street and Loma Street;
  • Reconstructing vehicle crossovers and storm-water drainage infrastructure;
  • Performing road pavement renewal works and upgrading signage and line-marking.

Further updates on the project start date will be provided soon. You can subscribe to receive emails about when this webpage is updated, see below.
