Council has completed works on a stormwater harvesting system for Tarralla Creek.

Council, in partnership with the Victorian Government, Yarra Valley Water and Melbourne Water will deliver a stormwater harvesting system in 2022 and 2023.

The Tarralla Creek Stormwater Harvesting System is being delivered by Maroondah City Council in partnership with the Victorian Government (Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning), Yarra Valley Water and Melbourne Water.

This system will capture, treat and re-use stormwater to irrigate the following four surrounding sportsfields in Croydon:

  • Fred Geale Oval
  • Croydon Oval
  • Springfield Park
  • Town Park field

This investment will save approximately 13 million litres (5 Olympic sized swimming pools) of drinking water per year.

Please be advised that some access and use of the athletics track and carpark may be limited during this time and redevelopment of the Town Park sportsfield will follow these works.
