Council has completed the construction of footpaths in Belle Vue Avenue, Pearwood Street and Lavender Street in Ringwood.

As part of Council’s commitment to the construction of footpaths in Maroondah to improve pedestrian access and safety, footpath is proposed to be constructed in the following locations:

  • Lavender Street - Southern Side between Ford Street & Great Ryrie Street;
  • Pearwood Street - Northern Side between Ford Street & Great Ryrie Street; and
  • Belle Vue Avenue - Northern Side between Great Ryrie Street & Heathmont Road

The works will include:

  • Reconstruction of several vehicle crossings along the extent of works to allow the concrete footpath to extend through the vehicle crossing at compliant grades.
  • Modification works at the Belle Vue Avenue and Great Ryrie Street pedestrian crossing to assist in safer vehicle and pedestrian movements.
  • Removal of seven trees of varying size as required to construct the footpath due to their significant root systems impacting the current nature strip.
