As part of Council’s commitment to the construction of footpaths in Maroondah to improve pedestrian access and safety, Council has constructed a new footpath on the western side of Highton Street, Ringwood East. This project forms part of Council’s Principal Pedestrian Network that completes the missing link of footpath between the north side of Loma Street and south side of Railway Avenue.

The works include:

Construction of a concrete footpath on the western side of Highton Street, between Railway Avenue and Loma Street
Reconstruction of some vehicle crossings along the extent of works to allow the concrete footpath to extend through the vehicle crossing
Removal of one street tree to construct the footpath due to the significant root system impacting vehicle crossings, nature strip and the footpath
