Evelyn Road, Ringwood North road rehabilitation

Council will be completing infrastructure improvement works along Evelyn Road near the Loughnan Road intersection to address reoccurring road pavement failure and improve pedestrian connectivity.

The improvement works will include:

• New footpath construction on west side of the road (between Loughnan Rd and 3 Evelyn Road)
• Isolated kerb and channel replacement
• Additional stormwater drainage
• Road pavement reconstruction

Work schedules

4 December to 22 December 2023

On approach to the festive break, the contractor will complete the footpath, kerb and drainage components of the project. Completing these works first will ensure design levels are set for the road pavement reconstruction early in the new year.

During this time minor traffic management arrangements will be in place to ensure a safe working environment for both the public and contractor. The road will operate under traffic control, during working hours of 7am-5pm, reopening after-hours. 

22 January to 16 February 2024

Following the festive break, the contractor will recommence works on Monday 22 January 2024. Any outstanding concrete works will be completed, then the road pavement reconstruction component of works will begin. This will involve the full removal, deepening and strengthening of the road pavement on the approach to the intersection.

Local traffic impacts

Due to the substantial works involved to complete the road pavement reconstruction, Evelyn Road will be closed to through traffic from 5 February 2024 to 9 February 2024, with the below detour route in place. Please plan your trips accordingly during this time. Council thanks the local community for their patience as these critical works are completed.

Bus route 370 impacts

The bus stop outside 3 Evelyn Road will be upgraded as part of the works. To allow the upgrade to occur, the bus stop will be closed from Tuesday 23 January to Friday 9 February.

During the road pavement construction and subsequent full road closure period (5 February to 9 February 2024), the four (4) bus stops along Evelyn Road, between Avalon Grove and Loughnan Road will be closed. During the closure the bus route will be detoured through Avalon Grove under traffic control management.
