Asphalt works on Eastfield Road between Shane Crescent and Bayswater Road in Ringwood East will take place from Monday 13 January to Monday 20 January 2025.

Access during works

Please ensure that your vehicles, or visitors’ vehicles, are not parked on the road or nature strips on the day(s) of work between the hours of 7am and 4.30pm. If possible, vehicles should be parked within your property boundary or outside of the work area.

To facilitate a safe working environment for the contractor and the public, appropriate traffic controls will be implemented that may restrict access to your property temporarily during the asphalting works. However, Council’s contractor has been instructed to allow access to local traffic when it is safe to do so.

At times, you may be required to park in a side street and walk to your property when access cannot be provided.

If you have specific access requirements, please approach and discuss your requirements with the onsite traffic controllers. Generally, the road will be open to traffic outside of the working hours or 1 hour after the asphalt has been laid.

Waste collection

Council has organised for waste collection to be picked up at an early time prior to the start time of the works. Bins are able to be put out as normal.

Detours

Major detours for through traffic is via Mount Dandenong Road and Bayswater Road. Local detours for residents is via The Pass through to Yarraduct Place, and Shane Crescent through to Blue Mist Drive. For further information please see the detour plans below.

Extent of works

Clean up of site

At the completion of the works, Council’s contractor will arrange for the road to be swept to remove any loose stones and other materials.

Reinstatement of linemarking

Council will reinstate any existing line marking within two weeks following the completion of the works.

Monitoring the works

The new road surface will be monitored by Maroondah City Council and the contractor. Any required rectification works will be undertaken in accordance with the contract and/or Maroondah Council’s Road Management Plan.
