Aunty Sherree Francis

Aunty Sherree Francis is a proud Wurundjeri woman.

35 years after starting her career as a teacher, Aunty Sheree become a volunteer guide at Healesville Sanctuary. 21 years later she found her calling when she joined the Healesville Sanctuary Education Unit and was able to teach others about Aboriginal culture and the Wurundjeri nation. Aunty Sherree is also an active volunteer, and has found community in the Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place.

Her list of achievements include:

  • Educator with the Healesville Sanctuary Education Unit, Learning Experiences
  • Volunteered at the 2002 World Masters Games
  • Volunteered at the 2005 Deaflympics Games
  • Volunteered at the 2006 Commonwealth Games
  • Volunteered at the FINA World Championships in 2007
  • Volunteered at the Homeless World Cup Soccer in 2008
  • and volunteered at the Rugby World Cup in 2009.
