The aim of the Country Women's Association of Victoria Inc. is to improve conditions for women and children throughout Victoria, Australia and the world through community service. Branches of the Association are spread throughout Victoria in both rural and metropolitan areas.
Ringwood Branch was formed in 1946 in the Ringwood Town Hall and currently meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the Lionswood Village Hall, Kirk Street, Ringwood at 1.00pm. A small entry fee is charged to cover the cost of rent.
At each meeting members donate non-perishable food items which are forwarded to local community organisations supporting families within the City of Maroondah. If able, financial donations are made to local community groups who offer support to families.
We also hold a craft morning at 10am on the same day as our meeting day at the Lionswood Village Hall. Members bring their own lunch and craft projects to work on at this social morning.
Our knowledge of various organisations is increased by inviting their representatives to be guest speakers at our meetings. A short business meeting is held on each meeting day. The meeting is finished with a cuppa, refreshments and social interaction.
We also take every opportunity to meet socially throughout the year by going out to lunch at various venues within the City of Maroondah and beyond.
