Your Library Ltd provides services to Knox, Maroondah and Yarra Ranges. Realm Library is an established, community-focused facility in Ringwood.

Key facilities

  • Public toilets: male/female/accessible, baby change
  • Changing places – fully accessible public toilet, providing adult change facilities for people with severe or profound disabilities.
  • Parents room with microwave.
  • Photocopier: black and white, colour and scanning.
  • Internet: free Wi-Fi accessible for library members.
  • Public PCs: 24 computers on Level 1 available for use.

Access information

Enter Realm from the Town Square off Maroondah Hwy in front of Eastland, opposite Ringwood Station. Escalators from Eastland give direct access to the Town Square. The library is located on Level 1 of Realm, accessed by stairs and 2 lifts. One lift is extra-large and will accommodate several wheelchairs and prams.

Carparking

When arriving via Ringwood Bypass, enter from Ringwood Street at West 5. If you arrive from Warrandyte Road, use entry East 6. There are also two-minute parking zones and taxi zones adjacent to the northern kerb of Maroondah Highway.

Return chute availability

After hours returns chute available in Ringwood Town Square, next to Holey Moley and Anytime Fitness.

Public holiday openings

Realm is open between 10am and 5pm on Australia Day, Labour Day, Easter Saturday, Easter Monday, Queen's Birthday, AFL Grand Final Day and Melbourne Cup Day. It is closed all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and ANZAC Day.

Ongoing events & activities

  • Storytimes: Come along to storytime, listen to books, songs, rhymes and take part in age appropriate activities as your child travels on their literacy journey. Various sessions are available including those for Tiny Tots (0-1 year), Toddlers (1-3 years), Preschool (3-6 years) and Families (0-6 years) and a Chinese language session (0-6 years).
  • Bookchat: Join us for lively and stimulating session where people share their recent reads and discuss authors and new books. Held on the second Wednesday of the month from 2:00-3:00pm and the last Thursday of the month from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
  • One More Page Bookclub: Come along and join the One More Page Bookclub where we will explore a diverse range of books featuring LGBTQI+, Indigenous and culturally diverse authors and stories. Held on the first Thursday of the month from 2:00-3:00pm.
  • Realm Writers’ Group: Come and join an encouraging community of beginner and experienced writers. Together we will learn about different writing styles and techniques, listen as group members speak on areas of interest, engage in writing exercises to hone specific writing skills, and take opportunities to critique one another’s writing. Held on the last Saturday of the month from 10:00-11:00am.
  • Conversation Circle: Is English your second language? Come along to our Conversation Circle, meet our friendly group and improve your English skills! Happens weekly on Fridays from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
  • Pathway for Carers: Come along and enjoy a walk together with other carers, before returning to the library for a cuppa and a short presentation by different guest walkers each month. Held on the fourth Saturday of the month from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
  • Colour Me Happy: Take the opportunity to join others for some relaxing colouring. Basic supplies will be available, but please bring your own if you have them. Held on the third Friday of the month from 2:00-3:00pm.
  • Origami Group: Join us for a relaxing time of folding together. Bring a fun origami project to fold and share, all while chatting and meeting other origami enthusiasts. Standard origami paper will be provided, you just need to bring yourself, your folding projects, and excitement for folding. Held on the first Saturday of the month from 10:30-12:30pm.
  • Realm Movie Matinee: Grab yourself a cuppa and a bickie and settle back, relax and enjoy a matinee movie at Realm. Held every second Monday from 2:00-3:00pm.
  • Realm in Motion: Chill with free flicks every Friday night, meet new friends and relax (movies shown vary in rating from G to PG, parental discretion is required for each film). Every Friday night from 6:00-:30pm.
  • Realm Board Gaming: Come to Realm for casual board games, meet new friends and have fun. Feel free to bring your own games along, or play the ones provided. Held on the second Saturday of the month from 11:00am-4:00pm.
  • Dungeons and Dragons:  Come to Realm where together with other players, you will go on adventures, work to overcome obstacles, and fight monsters in epic battles. Held every second Monday from 5:00-7:30pm and on the second Tuesday of the month from 5:30-7:30pm.
  • One-to-one tech support: Get one-to-one help with Tech Support Officer James, who can help you connect your smartphone to the library's huge online collections of free books, audiobooks, magazines and streaming content, learn a new skill online, understand social media, including Facebook and WhatsApp, set up and manage an email account, grasp the basics of your mobile phone, iPad/Android device, or laptop, navigate government services on MyGov, get answers to basic tech support questions, and help you understand next steps. Various sessions available throughout the week.
