Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre - Box Hill Radiotherapy

Peter Mac's Box Hill campus has provided Radiation Therapy services to the people of eastern Melbourne for over 35 years.

We have strong ties to the Medical and Surgical Oncology division at Box Hill Hospital (Eastern Health) and the Epworth Eastern, providing our patients with a complete cancer treatment service in the east.

We are the only public health service provider for the eastern suburbs and no payment is required for Medicare-eligible patients.

The Box Hill campus offers world-class radiation therapy planning and treatment delivery facilities with two state-of-the-art linear accelerators (treatment machines), capable of delivering external beam radiation therapy including:

3D conformal radiation therapy (3DCRT)

Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT)

intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)

image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)

CT scanner for radiation therapy planning (with four-dimensional radiation therapy planning capabilities)

Deep inspiration breath hold (DIBH) radiation therapy

Expiration breath hold (EBH) radiation therapy

Stereotactic Ablative Body Radiotherapy (SABR) 

Neuro Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS)

Partial Ablation Body Radiotherapy (PABR)

PARKING

A privately operated underground car park is available at Epworth Eastern. As a Peter Mac patient, you are able to access the car park at a capped rate. Speak to reception staff on your first visit for rates and how to access these.

Metered street parking around the site is limited and, depending on the time of day, can be difficult to access.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Train

Box Hill Train Station, on the Lilydale and Belgrave lines, is approximately a 10-minute walk from the centre.

Trams

Tram 109 runs along Whitehorse Road and stops at Nelson Road.

Buses

Buses stop outside the building. If you are coming from Melbourne via East Kew, use bus number 202. If travelling from Box Hill Train Station, use number 302.
