Penumbra Centre Inc.A Social, Recreational & Activities Service for Adults.We have social support groups/PAG for adults. We support  adults 65+, younger people with a disability or persons who have early onset dementia.  Our planned activity groups make a variety of art and craft items, from mosaics and paintings to knitting and making jewelery. Penumbra Centre also provides social outings, walking group, gardening and the men's shed program. 

Penumbra Centre Inc, provides opportunities for adults in the community to meet in a supported social setting where they may learn new skills and share experiences via a range of social and recreational activities.

 Our programs aim to nurture the abilities and strengths of participants in an environment which encourages independence, well-being and ongoing involvement in community life. The programs are facilitated by staff with support from volunteers. Staff may provide limited assistance to individuals with general activities of daily living, such as eating, personal hygiene and mobility. 

Participants do need a minimal level of independence with mobility, and need to be able to cope within a group setting where the choice of activities may involve short excursions. The progress and care of all participants within our programs is planned and monitored with family, carers and supporting teams.

Penumbra Centre encourages diversity and a person centred approach towards service provision for members. We encourage participants to be involved in making decisions about  our planned activities with  skills and abilities of the members taken into account in the planning process.

We operate on Monday,Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday throughout school terms.
