SURe (Substance Use Recovery)

The SURe program provides a welcoming and holistic service for people dealing with substance use, mental health issues, and other challenges. We support not just individuals but their families as well.

We help anyone aged 18 and over and believe in harm reduction and a social model of health and wellbeing. SURe is a partnership between EACH & Anglicare Victoria.

We offer counselling for drugs and alcohol, centralised intake and assessment, and care and recovery for those with more complex needs. Our experienced clinicians provide thorough bio-psychosocial assessments to connect individuals and their families to the right services.

We can help with linking to AOD counselling, withdrawal and rehabilitation services, financial services, gambling counselling, legal services, finding accommodation, and health services like community dental schemes.

The SURe program offers a non-residential withdrawal nurse service, providing support for individuals who want to manage withdrawal symptoms without staying in a residential facility. Our compassionate and experienced nurses guide you through the process, offering medical support, advice, and encouragement in a safe and comfortable environment.

This service includes personalised care plans tailored to your specific needs and circumstances, regular medical monitoring to ensure your safety and well-being, assistance with managing withdrawal symptoms, and emotional support throughout the process. We also provide referrals to other support services as needed, such as counselling or rehabilitation programs.

The SURe program also includes a needle syringe program to support individuals who use injectable substances. This program aims to reduce harm and promote health and safety.

Our needle syringe program (NSP) provides clean needles and syringes to help prevent the spread of infections and diseases. We also offer safe disposal options for used equipment. Alongside these services, we provide information and education on safer injecting practices and connect individuals to other health and support services, such as counselling, medical care, and rehabilitation programs. We offer sexual health products in the NSP.

This initiative is part of our broader commitment to harm reduction and supporting the health and well-being of individuals in our community.

Our programs support people aged 18 and over.
