INFANT program (INfant Feeding, Active play and NuTrition)

About the INFANT program

The INFANT program (INfant Feeding, Active play and NuTrition) is a free program designed to help parents and families with feeding and active play to give their baby the best start to life.

You will be joined by other parents whose babies are about the same age over four face-to-face sessions led by a Maroondah MCH professional to cover important topics such as:

  • introducing solids
  • food refusal and fussy eating
  • tummy time
  • active play ideas
  • and the role that parent wellbeing plays in your baby’s life.

The program is facilitated by a Maternal and Child Health Nurse and will consist of informal discussions with an educational focus, related to the care and development of your baby in the first year of life.

  • INFANT is an evidence-based initiative led by Maroondah Maternal and Child Health nurses to support families with healthy eating and active play.
  • INFANT has been developed by child health experts and health professionals at Deakin University’s Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition.
  • INFANT consists of three face-to-face sessions when infants are aged 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months and access to the My Baby Now app, full of trustworthy, practical advice and tips on feeding and active play with your baby.
