Senior Australian COVID-19 supports
- Older people can access emergency CHSP services for up to eight weeks without an assessment in COVID-19 affected areas and where they have an urgent need.
- The Older Persons COVID-19 Support Line can provide help, support and mental health resources to older Australians (1800 171 866). Recently extended to 31 December 2021.
- My Aged Care Contact Centre (1800 200 422) - My Aged Care can assist with a grocery supply box if clients requires grocery deliveries and are unable to navigate online delivery services.
- Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) (1800 700 600) offer a Wellbeing Check service to ensure the provision of emotional or social support, particularly for those people who have reduced or cancelled home care services due to pandemic concerns. This is available to both HCP and CHSP recipients.
- The Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement (1800 22 22 00) provides tailored support, advice and specialised counselling with a bereavement practitioner in a one-to-one or group setting. Further info on grief and trauma support services is available here.
