Risk Management Policy
Maroondah City Council manages risk in a systematic manner using the principles set out in the Australian Standards for risk management AS/NZS 31000. The Policy provides the framework for achieving this and the Strategy details how the policy is implemented.
Nine core risk management standards underpin the risk management policy and strategy:
- People
- Financial and economic
- Technology and information management
- Assets and security
- Environment
- Product and service delivery
- Ethics and corporate image
- Leadership and corporate governance
- Risk management organisation
Corporate alignment of effective risk management practices is being blended into both strategic and operational decision making processes. The Risk Management Advisory Committee chaired by the Director of Corporate Services monitors risk management across Council. Regular reports are made to the corporate management team and Audit and Risk Management Committees.
