Council Expenses Policy

Council must adopt and maintain a Council Expenses Policy pursuant to section 41 of the Local Government Act 2020.

This policy supports councillors and members of delegated committees to perform their role, as defined under the Act.

The Policy provides guidance on:

  • Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillor allowances
  • the provision of facilities and support to enable them to effectively perform their role
  • the reimbursement of expenses that are reasonably incurred in the performance of their role.

The policy is intended to ensure that councillors and members of delegated committees are supported to perform their duties without disadvantage.
