Warrien Reserve Social Script

Warrien Reserve

Council, with professional assistance from Amaze Autism Victoria, has produced a social script for Warrien Reserve in Warrien Road, Croydon North.

The social script helps people with autism, or others that may feel anxious in new places, to learn more about the reserve before they visit.

What is a Social Script?

A Social Script is a short description of a situation, event or activity, which includes specific information about what to expect in that situation and why.

This Social Script uses clear everyday language and pictures to outline what you can see and do when visiting Warrien Reserve.

Why use a Social Script?

The benefit of the Social Script is that it can be used in a variety of ways, for many different reasons. While it is mainly designed to be used with people on the autism spectrum, it can also be used to familiarise anyone who might be concerned or anxious about visiting an unknown environment.

A Social Script can be used as a fun reading exercise and can be personalised to suit each person’s individual needs.

How do I access the Social Script?

This Social Script is also provided in a word format so you can download it and make any required changes. There are several optional pages you can add to your social script if you feel the information is helpful.
