Pre-apprenticeship training

Want to complete a pre-apprenticeship?

Apprenticeship training

Council is partnering with Swinburne University to offer Maroondah residents an opportunity to complete a pre-apprenticeship trade training program for free.

These programs are a great opportunity to improve your chances of securing paid employment as a trade apprentice and/or provide you with a chance to experience what it would be like to pursue a hands-on trade.

There are 8 positions available in the fields of plumbing, brick laying or carpentry.

Council will cover the costs of the course, allowing you to complete a pre-apprenticeship training program in a trade area of interest to you.

Adult applicants are welcome to apply.

People from an Indigenous or CALD community; those who have a disability and young school leavers are highly encouraged to apply for this opportunity. Due to the nature of the training, participants must have a moderate level of English to be eligible.
