Planning Information Enquiries

Planning Information Request (PIR)

You should use this application if you require a written response from Council to determine if a planning permit is required for your proposal.

A PIR can also be used when you require a written confirmation or response from Council on a specific planning question or matter.

Your application must specify the type of property for which you are applying if you want your fees to be calculated correctly:

  • single dwelling in a residential zone; or
  • another type of property.

If you think Council will require further information in order to assess your request, please submit supporting documentation such as site plans, elevations or the title to the property.
Please note: Council’s advice and fees will be based upon the information submitted in the application. Failure to include sufficient information may affect or alter Council’s advice.

Planning History Request (PHR)

You should use this application if you require a copy of a planning permit or the endorsed plans for a development.

Any documentation or copies of documentation provided during the course of a PHR will be copied and made available for the purpose of the planning process as set out in the Planning and Environment Act 1987. The information must not be used for any other purpose.

Important Information

All documents are subject to availability. As many records are held in archives please allow 10-14 working days for a response.

Council only holds records of planning permits and applications submitted to Council. In some cases, plans or requested documents may not be available. Statutory Planning can provide guidance as to whether or not the search is likely to yield any results.

For further information, contact Statutory Planning on 9298 4287.

The PHR application fee covers a search and not a result. This fee is non-refundable and Council cannot guarantee information or results.

The fee for the PHR is based on the information submitted and for copies of the documents (up to two planning permits).

Council will contact you should your application attract a different fee or if you require more than two planning permits.

All additional fees must be paid in full prior to any further processing of your request.
