L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program

Learner driverCouncil is offering the VicRoads L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program to the Maroondah municipality.

The L2P program provides an opportunity for young people (aged 16-20) who experience significant barriers in learning to drive to be matched with a fully licensed mentor to complete their 120 hours driving experience. This is required to obtain their probationary license.

Giving young people the chance to learn how to drive provides a platform for gaining independence as well as supporting growth in education and employment.

The program is run with support from the Rotary Club of Ringwood and the State Government of Victoria.

Become a Volunteer Mentor Driver

Our driven and hard working young people can’t achieve this significant milestone without the help from adult volunteers.

The Program is fully supported by Maroondah City Council's Youth Services team and our Volunteer Mentor Drivers are given comprehensive training and support throughout the program.

To register your interest in becoming a Volunteer Mentor Driver for the L2P program, please head to the Maroondah Careers page.

Would you like to use the program?

If you are a young person eligible for the L2P program or if you would like to talk with someone further, please contact Kate McGreal on 9294 5703.
