Vale Robert Anthony (Tony) Lethbridge

25 July 2017

“It is with regret that I advise the Maroondah community of Tony Lethbriedge, who passed away on 20 July,” said Mayor of Maroondah, Councillor Tony Dib.

“Tony was a stalwart within the Ringwood athletics community and served as a member and secretary of the AC Robertson Special Committee of Management,” said Cr Dib.

“Tony’s contribution to the Maroondah community was recognised by Council in March this year, with the formal naming of the new Ringwood athletics pavilion in his honour,” said Cr Dib.

“The Tony Lethbridge Pavilion acknowledges the contribution Tony made as a founder of the Ringwood Athletics Club in 1963, and his vision for a permanent home for athletics that led to the design and construction of the original athletics facility at Proclamation Park in 1975,” said Cr Dib.

Tony will be sadly missed by all that knew him and his passing is a loss to the Maroondah community.

As a mark of respect the Flags at Maroondah City Council offices will be flown at half mast on the day of the funeral, which is being held on Thursday 27 July.
