A new playspace at Barngeong Reserve in Croydon is already proving to be a hit with youngsters eager to be the first to try out the new equipment.

The $110,000 redeveloped playspace offers a diverse range of playing experiences, including climbing, balance, swinging and imaginative elements for children of all ages.

The enhanced play area features a spinning rope climb unit, swings, monkey bars, elevated platform with slides, a rock and logs balance trail, and a hexagon shaped six-way swing station – the first of its kind in Maroondah.

BarngenongA canteen-inspired cubby house has also been incorporated to challenge and inspire children’s sense of imagination.

Local parents have welcomed the upgrade, especially as the facilities offered a range of physically challenging activities for kids, helping to develop skills in coordination and strength.

Due to the condition and age of the old playground, the upgrade involved the full replacement of all previous playground equipment.

Maroondah playgrounds are regularly checked and maintained to ensure the safety of all children who use them.

The new playspace at Barngeong Reserve is located on Bambra Street in Croydon.
