Maroondah 2040: An emerging vision for our community

The vision for Maroondah looking ahead to the year 2040 and beyond involves the development of a vibrant cultural centre with safe neighbourhoods and thriving activity centres.

The community want to see an increase in arts and entertainment activities, increased retail options and the establishment of a café culture. There is a desire for greater acceptance of cultural diversity and more community involvement in local decision making.

The community also want to see new businesses attracted to the area, diversity in local job opportunities and more higher education options for local young people. Increased infrastructure and services will be required accommodate a growing and ageing population.

The Maroondah community is also keen to see the distinctive natural beauty of Maroondah maintained while also looking at advancements in environmental sustainability and design.

The emerging vision for the community can be categorised into eight broad statements:Maroondah 2040 Community Outcomes
